June 17: Free Film Presentation of “El Chino,” 4 pm

The 75-minute film covers Bill Wong’s incredible journey, starting with his youth in Nogales, Arizona; how his family ended up in Berkeley; and his tenacious pursuit of breaking into professional bullfighting in Spain in the late 1950s. The documentary will be introduced by Art Wong, Bill’s youngest brother, who grew up in Berkeley. The Wong family is featured in the current BHSM exhibit, Touching Ground, Putting Down Roots: Chinese in Berkeley. The exhibit will be open for viewing that afternoon from 1 to 4 pm.
