Saturday, November 11, 10 am: Tamalpais-Shasta Loop Walk

Led by Bob Johnson

The walk will cover Tamalpais Road and the nearby neighborhood with a wealth of architecture, history, former homes of famous people (like Robert Oppenheimer), unique public paths, and a great view (weather permitting); moreover, a creek runs through it. We will be at the edge of the 1923 fire area and will also take note of trees and gardens and William Wurster’s idea for an ideal community.

The walk is approximately 1.3 miles. There are some stairs at the start and and a total of 250 feet of elevation gain. However, we will take it at a very modest pace with plenty of stops along the way so as not to be too strenuous. Not wheelchair accessible.

Unfortunately AC Transit is not running up Euclid on weekends though it is possible they may change the schedule at some point. Parking can usually be found on Euclid or side streets such as Hawthorne Terrace and Bayview. There may be a two-hour limit, but we plan to finish within two hours.

You can use this form to purchase tickets for the tour or sign up on Eventbrite.
