See iconic historic buildings, changes since the adoption of the Downtown Area Plan in 2012, future development, and the evolving retail landscape. John will also talk about Street and Open Space Plan improvements to date and future. Ann will review Civic Center history, and we will discuss the City Council-approved Civic Center Plan of 2023. John Caner is the retiring CEO of the Downtown Berkeley Association, and you will also meet Cara Houser, the new CEO.
The walk will be less than 2 miles, mostly level. Seeing the insides of the two buildings will be optional at the end of the tour and will include stairs, except for a peek at the ground floor of the historic city hall, slated to be the future home of our museum.
