Welcome

The Berkeley Historical Society’s Touching Ground, Putting Down Roots: Chinese in Berkeley exhibit closed on September 30, 2023. It attracted several hundred visitors, and we are now pleased to be able to offer an online version for those who were not able to join us in person. Numerous visitors expressed appreciation of the exhibit’s extensive research and oral histories of longtime Chinese residents; this was a history that they could find nowhere else, they said.
