Saturday, September 28, 2024: San Pablo Park Walk, led by Bob Johnson

William Rumford statue on Sacramento Street

This walk explores the southwest Berkeley area around San Pablo Park, the city’s first public park. The area is rich in history for the African American community and also features some quirky architecture, the former Santa Fe Railroad right-of-way, and tree-lined streets. We will see the strange and inaptly nicknamed “Fish House” with a design actually based on the tardigrade, a tiny sea creature.

The walk is about 1.5-2 miles and very flat and accessible.
