Jacomena Maybeck, daughter-in-law of Berkeley’s beloved and renowned architect,
Bernard Maybeck, tells us a story of a time that seems very different from the world we know today. Her life with Wallen Maybeck revolved around the family (her own large, Dutch family, and the Maybecks) and around projects, renovating and building houses, and experiments with the arts. Jacomena is an accomplished potter and taught for many years at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland.
